Bruce Springsteen early years

Bruce Springsteen was born 19, September 1949 in New Jersey; he got Dutch and Irish ancestry. When he was seven years old he saw Elvis Presley play on the Ed Sullivan Show, and it was this that made him interested to begin with music. At the age of 13 he bought his first guitar and at an age of 16 his mother took out a loan to get her son a Kent guitar for about 60$. Bruce Springsteen was a quiet boy, and spend most of his time learning to play on his guitar. His two idols were Bob Dylan and Elvis. Bruce began the band The Castiles, and became the lead singer and guitarist. The Castiles recorded two original songs. Later on he played a lot of gigs on local bars, and a lot of people said that he would make it big, he even got the nickname “the boss”
Springsteen, however disliked the name because he had never been particularly fan of “bosses”. Bruce Springsteen got his breakthrough with the album “Born to run” in 1975.
