The E Street Band
The E Street Band was established in October 1972, but wasn’t named formally until September 1974. The band plays rock music like Bruce also does when he acts alone. The original band consists of Garry Tallent at the bass, Clarence Clemons at the saxophone, Danny Federici at the keyboards and the accordion, Vini «Mad Dog» Lopez at the drums and David Sancious also at the keyboard.
The band found their name in a street in Belmar, New Jersey, where Sancious’ mother lived. She was a very kind woman and allowed the band to rehearse in her home.
In 1989 Springsteen decided to go his own way, and the other members alos had projects to do alone. The last performance they had together before the split was the «Human Rights Now! Tour» the autumn in 1988.
But in 1995, the news a whole world had been waiting for came out, The E Street Band was going to do a reunion! Springsteen released Greatest Hits and then they was temporarily reunited to record four new songs, but the REAL reunion didn’t happen before 1999, ten years after the split. They appeared with an extremely successful Reunion Tour. And they are still making music together!
